Event Description

SAVE THE DATE!

CARNEROS, CA (September 1,2009): For the first time in its history, the wineries of the Carneros Wine Alliance (CWA) will hold a Harvest Passport, a unique wine trail through the highways and back roads of Carneros on October 17 from 10 to 4 p.m.

Many CWA wineries never before open for a public passport event will be open to passport participants and pouring for the first time. An On-Line Auction of The Carneros Experience will offer holiday gifts, shared experiences with friends and family and special wines from the ’07 and ’08 vintages widely lauded by industry professionals.

The region recently was awarded 94 points for its ’07 Pinot Noir vintage by the Wine Spectator.

Carneros is also widely considered one of the major Chardonnay regions in the world. Also featured will be varietals including Merlot, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and others.

Advance tickets will be sold for $49.00 through the CWA website (www.carneros.com). Passport tickets will entitle purchasers to sample wines and special offerings without incurring tasting fees. At the door tickets will be sold for $59.00.

The Carneros Harvest Passport will run for one day only. Attendees will receive a logo’d wineglass, a map of passport locations, a list of Silent Auction items and discounts on many wines not generally available in retail outlets.

Beneficiaries are the Carneros Land Stewardship Foundation and the CWA’s Cru Carneros educational and training program for early stage wine and food professionals.
