Event Description

Be a fan of "Bring Google Fiber to San Luis Obispo" on Facebook!

Google is planning to test ultra-high speed broadband networks in one or more trial locations across the country. The networks will deliver Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today, over 1 gigabit per second, fiber-to-the-home connections. Service will be offered at a competitive price to at least 50,000 and potentially up to 500,000 people. [Source: http://www.google.com/appserve/fiberrfi]

San Luis Obispo needs faster, more reliable internet service, as many residents feel they aren't receiving the best possible service. Google is giving communities the opportunity to have extremely fast internet for a competitive price, and all we have to do is ask.

This opportunity can help stimulate our local economy by increasing ISP competition in San Luis Obispo. Additionally, faster and more reliable internet makes it more attractive for home businesses and local startups to stay in San Luis Obispo.
