There's a beautiful winery for all you up in Humboldt County called Winnett Vineyards. Amazing view, pizza oven, bocce court, and good wine.
Ever hear of Midsummer Cellars? Their winery is about the size of a small patio. Great wines too.
Elan up on Atlas Peak. Patrick & Linda make a great cabernet. It's a wonderful setting and they are fantastic hosts.
I happend to specialize in small wineries. I've launched a website totally dedicated to wineries in Napa that make less then 10,000 per year. It's called smalllotwinetours.com. My favorites are Black Cat Vineyard, HdV, Arger-Martucci, Delectus, Hill Family Estate, Clark-Claudon, Humanitas, Ehlers, Culler, Broman, Chase Cellars, Olivia Brion, and Pope Valley Winery.

In Sonoma I like Benovia, Carica, and Tin Barn.
Sycramore Creek & Solis in Gilroy, Chateau Sinnet in Carmel Valley
Saddleback was fun, did that over Thanksgiving weekend. Bob and the winery dogs were a fun visit. I also enjoyed Terra Valentine on Spring Mountain over a foggy morning. Rutherford Hill has a nice tour and picnic grounds as well.
