Wineries, Marketing and Emerging Media

This is a new, open community to discuss the use of emerging media (search and social media) in marketing wineries.

Welcome to Boutique Wineries, Marketing and Emerging Media

Thanks for visiting. This is a new community, so it's up to us (the initial group members) to start the discussion and get some great ideas going. This community is open to anyone, but was created for owners, operators and marketers of small and boutique wineries. This is also a great place, for those with expertise in emerging media, to share knowledge and experience with the community.

The only caveats to membership in this group are:
1. all discourse must be civil and respectful of others' viewpoints
2. discussion is to remain focused on emerging media in small and boutique wineries
3. we do not use this community to promote any one business or attempt to solicit
sales within the group

If you own, operate or market a small or boutique winery, or you have some expertise in emerging media, your participation in this group would be immensely valuable to all. Also, please refer anyone in your network who might benefit from participation in this group.

Thank you,
John Heim

Great job, Dina! I just Tweeted the Tobin James video since I simply LOVE their wine and they're currently the only wine club to which I belong. They've never steered me wrong. :)

I loved the documentary/news style format. Very enduring and does reflect the spirit of a "cottage industry." Made me feel like I want to get to know these winemakers better. Good job and the production values work without getting too slick! (We work with some of the largest wineries in the world as well as boutiques...everyone likes to be in the know and part of the inner circle. I applaud your strategy.)

Very well done. they are warm, they capture the personality of the the winemakers and family. the lighting, the sound and the comments are very will edited. i also agree with Mark, what do i do with this?

Dina ... agree wholeheartedly with Mark ... these are very nicely done videos.. really make you want to visit the wineries and meet the owners. As Mark pointed out, the trick now is to ensure that both the wineries and film maker get some benefit. I plan on updating my blog soon and will be happy to provide a link to them. Love wine from Paso Robles!

Dina...I watched the Tobin Cellars (Esp #3) and the Graveyard Vineyard...well done. You have captured the beauty of the countryside as well as the passion of the winery owners...I personally believe that is the motivation that will bring visitors that can be converted to customers. The trick will be to get potential customers to watch the videos...I haven't researched either winery but they need links these videos from their websites, they need to have Fan Pages on Facebook showing the videos, the should be Tweeting about them. As a film maker you have done a good job but for them to fulfill the desired purpose the wineries need to do more. They me know how they do!

Hi there, please check out our web series focused on the 2009 harvest in Paso Robles, Ca http://www.pasoharvestfilms.com

In 1-2 minute segments, we feature many of our local winemakers (characters!) as they bring the fruit off the vines and discuss this year's grapes. Experience harvest...one mini film at a time!
