Wine 2.0

It’s been said that Video is the communications media of the future. The convergence of low-cost video capture and edit technologies, cheap storage and broad-band have made the job of shooting, producing and delivering video easier and more accessible than ever. Today, we have millions of “citizen videographers” and “citizen producers” creating and publishing video on the net. This has fundamentally changed consumer expectations about what “good” video content is. We no longer believe that the only good video is highly produced and polished, professionally made video. Instead, we are being drawn more towards uniquely creative concepts, personalities, authenticity and great substance.

The point is, video can be a very powerful media for wineries. And, you don’t have to go out and hire a professional video company to be successful. Get yourself a little flip video camera or other easy to carry, easy to use mini cameras and just keep it with you as you go through your day at the winery. Use readily available, easy to use video editing software (usually comes with the camera) to put together your video. Then publish to your site and on various video sharing services.

Bottom line: video is an accessible and affordable communications media that all wineries should be using to promote their wines and their winery experience.

If anyone is using video content - particularly 'home grown' video content - to promote your wines or winery, it would be very helpful to the group if you could post about your experience and results here.
http://www.carpevinoauburn.com/about_us_vrtour.html These guys in Auburn have been using this media for a while. They told us that they have had people come to auburn because they have seen the video and wanted to meet the people, but also lost some locals who didnt think it was appropriate content. Check it out
Hi All,
here is a good example of wine and video on the net:

Although is in Spanish_ just a few videos are in English_, is a great source for the Argentinean consumer, and thought would be nice to share this link , just to see a way of using video+internet in wine promotion.
I know several small boutique wineries that have posted videos on YouTube (wine growing, harvests, wine making etc.), but they have not followed them up with other emerging media promotion entries. They need to be educated about how to do this.
