Welcome to Boutique Wineries, Marketing and Emerging Media

Thanks for visiting. This is a new community, so it's up to us (the initial group members) to start the discussion and get some great ideas going. This community is open to anyone, but was created for owners, operators and marketers of small and boutique wineries. This is also a great place, for those with expertise in emerging media, to share knowledge and experience with the community.

The only caveats to membership in this group are:
1. all discourse must be civil and respectful of others' viewpoints
2. discussion is to remain focused on emerging media in small and boutique wineries
3. we do not use this community to promote any one business or attempt to solicit
sales within the group

If you own, operate or market a small or boutique winery, or you have some expertise in emerging media, your participation in this group would be immensely valuable to all. Also, please refer anyone in your network who might benefit from participation in this group.

I am trying to connect the South Florida wine consumer market with small and medium wine producers in US through the DTC channel. There are so many good examples of wineries using social media today. One of my favorites is Benziger. They are creating engaging content to share and more importantly responding to people within social media. You may find our blog to be a good source of direction for Connecting in Social Media. Our recent Global Trend also explores Social Media in great detail. (Mobile, Video, and more)

What wineries are using Social Media well? What wineries are NOT using Social Media that you know of?

I don't want to violate point #2 of "caveats," but I have an app that searches California wineries (800 to date) based on their Tasting Room Fee. I would think wineries that pour complimentary tastes or "refund with purchase" would like to use me???? Tell me how. Advertise specials? Events? What else?

Great job, Dina! I just Tweeted the Tobin James video since I simply LOVE their wine and they're currently the only wine club to which I belong. They've never steered me wrong. :)

I loved the documentary/news style format. Very enduring and does reflect the spirit of a "cottage industry." Made me feel like I want to get to know these winemakers better. Good job and the production values work without getting too slick! (We work with some of the largest wineries in the world as well as boutiques...everyone likes to be in the know and part of the inner circle. I applaud your strategy.)
