Could a City Hotel be a Real Wine Destination? For Example?

Hola Alex. Ya que estas en Barcelona te respondo en español, yo creo que sí respondiendo a tu pregunta habría darle el ambiente y las condiciones para si el lugar no está en una región vitivinícola pues lograr el lugar para ello. Yo estoy desarrollando un proyecto de hotel en la ciudad no entre viñedos pero en una región vitivinícola el lugar queda cerca de gran parte de las bodegas y de las regiones productoras de vinos de la ciudad donde se encontraría.

me gustaría me explicaras más porque no se si entiendo a que te referis. (politica de calidad entorno al vino) Mendoza que ya está posicionada como destino vitivinícola fue declarada una de las ocho capitales de mundo www.greatwinecapitals.com y la diferenciación sería estar en un hotel de caracter histórico en la ciudad el cual fue realizado por un arquitecto muy reconocido que tiene varios edificios construídos por el, tiene un estilo único. Daría un efoque cultural muy regional que les sería interesante para los visitantes extranjeros. Tu proyecto donde es?

me refiero a aquellos detalles que hacen que un alojamiento sea un verdadero destino vinícola
una carta bién seleccionada, buenas copas, pero cuantas? minibar con vinos? oferta de enoturismo?... va por ahí

On a domestic USA note, Wine and Roses Inn (http:winerose.com) located in the Lodi AVA (California) and immediately adjacent to the Lodi Wine and Visitor's center serves as a (small) city wine destination - but certainly not in the metropolis (large city) context you are speaking.

Wine tourists have varying personal requirements/goals. If their goal is to experience regional wines along with the regional vineyard and winery character and experience, then only wine producing/grape growing regions can answer that need. However, if the wine tourist seeks to capture solely the wine drinking/appreciation experience then perhaps a city destination (separate from vineyards and wineries) that is crafted to represent a regions wine character and its wines would be effective. While bottles of wine may be transported and offered anywhere on the globe, I believe it would be difficult to create a generic "Disneyland of Wine" at any single point on the globe. Terrior is too compelling for most wine lovers. An urban hotel could possibly represent a wine producing region products.

Our thoughts and opinions aside, in the end Wine Tourists themselves will determine what tourist venues meet their needs, and visit those venues accordingly.

I think tangible things are most of times difficult to concret for services, and it's true that hospitality orientation is the first step to deliver a real wine service!!

could you suggest us a real wine destination ?
