Welll, if you decide to visit Sicily, let me know, so that I can suggest you a couple of good tips ( cities, where to buy the chocolate of Modica or the "Dwarf Aubergine" a tiny sort of this vegetables....).
Let me know also if you find…
Thinks for the links, I will read about the whales when I am away from work.
I had the chance to see many whales in Canada. I have seen most of the species that come here.

They come to the St. Lawrence (St. Laurent)…
Ohh! The best Primitivo I have ever tasted is the Primitivo producted by the "Consorzio Produttori" (Lyrica and Madrigale)

I can see that you had a god tasting on Portuguese Wines, you had there very god winemakers, next month in Oporto there will be a very god wine tasting developed by a wine magazine, you can see all at http://www.essenciadovinho.com/default.php?lingua=1 , I will go there for two days, to taste and to make some connections.
But in the end of this year we will have another wine tasting developed by other wine magazine, but this time in Lisbon, you can also see all at http://www.essenciadovinho.com/default.php?lingua=1 , the only problem with this one is that is all in portuguese. I had a stand on this last fair and it was a sucess.
Anyway if you can come to visit one of this tastings and spend some time in Portugal on vacations.
Best Regards

Hi David,
thank you for inviting me in you circle of friends.
Regarding the whales, here in Italy there is a so called "Sanctuary of the Whales": it's located among Corsica and Liguria/Genua (a north west region of Italy).
I attach the link of the related web page where you can find the exact location and sort of cetaceans one can see!

I've been also in the Azoras, where one can find gorgeous whales
(unfortunately I'vent seen a single whale...only dolphins).
As regards the Cerasuolo di Vittoria, to be honest, I dont know the specific valley but I can suggest you a couple of excellent "brands" of Cerasuolo: Planeta and Donnafugata. I don't know if they are easy to find in Canada.
All the best
Sara
you are right! the only thing you can be sure at Vinitaly is the rain, even in a sunny morning: do not forget your umbrella!
good luck for your leg, anyway. ciao
Thanks for inviting us to be a friend, David. Your Italy wine tours sound fabulous. Hopefully you'll make it out to the East Coast one day and join us in the award winning DesBarres Manor Inn restaurant for a Nova Scotia wine dinner.
