The winegrowing area of Ensenada, Baja California is located between parallels 32 º 35 º and 31º 15º north latitude. The valleys run almost perpendiculary down to the Pacific Ocean and the constant sea breezes blowing through help to create the unique microlimates that predominate in the area and exercise such a strong influence on the quality of the grapes. Each of the four valleys in the surrounding area of Ensenada has distinctive characteristics.

Hi Hans,

Congratulations on the success of the Baja wineries. I would love to take a trip to Baja, perhaps next spring. Is there a website or other source of information you could recommend to learn about the wines, the wineries and the region?

Thanks.
Monique

I've tasted in Baja about 10 years ago--decent wines, beautiful country, and hot springs too! Be curious to see how the wine industry has advanced around there.

I'm originally from San Diego and have been down to Ensenada many times many times in my youth. Looking forward to find out more about Baja California as a viticultural region.
Thanks.

I'm pulling for Mexico to throw its hat into the wine ring.
I have yet to try these, but must admit that my interest is piqued...
Ciao,
Joseph
