One of the most frequently asked questions I get is “Will Millennials spend the money on a $50 bottle of wine?” Ok, sometimes the price changes, but I’d have to say I answer this at least 2-3 times a week. The answer is YES, WE WILL. But in order…

Millennials are wine's next big consumer. So why aren't smaller business in the wine industry (boutique wineries, wine shops, wine bars, etc.) seeing much of the action? There could be several factors at work, most of which business owners have di…

Wine Affilliation: Consumer or Trade
Consumer
About Me:
I am a 20-something and (like many of my friends) I love wine. When I was laid off from my job at a big Hollywood talent agency, I decided to take the leap and live my dream of working in the wine industry.I own my own Wine Brokerage & Consulting business in Los Angeles, Millennier Wine Sales. I focus on the Millennial Generation as the end user and teach others why this age group is crucial to the wine industry in the U.S. as well as how to reach out to them as consumers.

This is also the topic of my blog, The Millennier: Wine + Millennials

In addition, I also run a traveling wine tasting group in LA geared towards younger wine drinkers.

Aside from wine, my other passion is music and I will talk your ear off about indie bands or the Silverlake music scene if you let me.

MIND THE AGE GAP: "Phase 2" Proves Elusive for Wine Industry & Millennials

About a BILLION years ago (well, more like 6 months), Gary Moore, author of Vinotrip: A Maryland Wine Blog, put into type-written the words what EVERYONE looking to reach out to Millennials should hear. Everyone in the wine industry, anyway.

In a short and sweet post about the increasingly big deal being made about wine companies reaching the mil… Continue

Millennials Will Spend the Money - Just Give Us A Reason

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is “Will Millennials spend the money on a $50 bottle of wine?” Ok, sometimes the price changes, but I’d have to say I answer this at least 2-3 times a week. The answer is YES, WE WILL. But in order to spend more money than we normally do on wine (or ANYTHING) there must be a reason for doing so.

This spring, I c… Continue

How Millennials View YOU, Wine Industry

Everybody’s attempting to do the brand new dance now – it’s called TRY AND REACH OUT TO MILLENNIAL CONSUMERS. Well, what do Millennials think of all this? Granted, there aren’t nearly enough people attempting, but let’s look at the landscape.

It looks a lot like the dancefloor at the last wedding you went to. Now, not everyone is out on the floor – it takes a certain amount… Continue

Hi Leah,

Portugal has many autochthones grape varieties, red and whites.
White varieties are very interesting, with very different characters, but SYRIA also called Códega do Larinho is fantastic, with citrons aromas of tangerine and orange.
Portugal Dão region has the most gastronomic wines: fresh, intense, elegant with very nice acidity, made with autochthonous grapes from very particularly varieties.
Just try.
I am a producer in Portuguese Dão region, and I suggest you to taste an old Dão.

Just see what Paul White Thinks about as:

“So far, Portugal has managed to remain true to its traditions, while at the same time offering up a huge range of distinctive grape varieties and unusual wine styles precisely when many of us are tiring of endless New World makeovers of French varietals.

Dao has a lot going for it in that respect: first rate grape varieties firmly rooted in granite-based ‘terroir’ that sparkles back like diamonds, all this shaped by a growing season that’s relatively gentler and longer than other Portuguese regions. Although relatively unknown and sometimes tricky to pronounce, Dao’s red wines offer consumers genuinely new and exciting tasting experiences.”

Visit please our web-site, for now it’s just in Portuguese, but to see photos you don’t need any translation: www.quintadaboavista.eu

Hope to hear from you soon.

Best.

I've always said I kept changing jobs to stay one step ahead of the law - LOL! Now I'm doing something I really love. Shame you can't make the Swiss tasting tomorrow but the commute is hell (from LAX to London). However, next week (Friday, 15 May), I'll be in Los Angeles (Redondo Beach) to do an Austrian tasting at Gourmet Cheese & Wine Bar. Maybe you can make that one. It's going to be great - and you can see me in action.
Cheers,
Paula

Yeah cooking school was awesome, but I think I've got PTSD from my externship. There is really nothing about working in a restaurant that is a good idea for me. I'd love to find out more about your company. I spend a lot of volunteer time working with young people in the democratic party, and I've always felt like there should be cross over into the wine world. We're just starting to get people really interested in what our generation has to say about politics, it would be great if the powers that be were interested in truely marketing wine to us.

Hi Leah,

I'm writing an article for a newsletter I send out to small wineries in Napa and sonoma. I would love some thoughts on why and how small wineries can attract "millenials" and why they would want to. I think many would be concerned that they don't have income to buy $30+ bottles of wine.
