Not a bad idea... Vino Mara. The name I wanted to use "Twisted Crisler" doesn't look like it's going to happen. I just saw "Twisted Wines" in the market. And Alter Ego is taken too. I'd love to hear your ideas.
you too... anxious to learn more about "your" wine that you are making. You could probably use my name to name your wine, but we'll have to doublecheck with my legal team - ha ha!!!
I've been involved in the wine & spirits industry for over 25 years. From restaurant management, to distributor management and working for one of americas iconic winery's. I have a "real" passion for wine and the hospitality industry.
Over those years I began to recognize that smaller wineries were not being represented any more on a vast number of wine lists in national restaurant and hotels. Their wine lists began looking the same. They contained the same wineries, just with different varietals. The wine lists had become homogenized. This really bothered me, especially since I knew there were so many great wines avaialble to them. I also learned that the many of the wine buyers of these restaurant and hotel companies wanted to find these smaller, family-owned wines & spirits. They wanted a change.
So, with my knowledge of working with wineries and my experience in working with national restaurant and hotel companies, I started my own company, the Trellis Wine Group LLC. My goal is to work with smaller family-owned & artisan wineries, spirit companies and other artisan producers, to bring them to the national restaurants & hotel companies, helping to break the homogenization of wine lists. I want to give them and their consumers more options and greater variety of exceptional wines from around the world. I also want to help these family-owned and artisan companies. Through my company we are able to bring new sales opportunities and increased consumer exposure to wineries and artisan companies that not might otherwise get an opportunity to work with these national restaurant companies.
In July of this year, I partnered with a good friend and industry professional, Paul Hoffman. Together we have expanded the company to include an exports to the Caribbean and Mexico.
