Hi Mike. As you can imagine, we really can't give out email addresses of clients. Also, we're trying to figure out the best way to foster these conversations. Frankly we've got too many, poorly-utilized networks already: Crushnet, CommerceWiki, Facebook, etc. I'll talk with Dan Lintz to see if we can get a good forum for this (which is what CommerceWiki is supposed to be) and communicate it to everyone.

Mike,

If you're look for distribution or business help you probably want to hit the OpenWine Consortium (OWC) site - business to business wine network. We work with Wine2.0 (who is focused on business to consumer efforts).

Cheers!

About Me:
My wife, Catherine, and I expanded our livestock venture in 2005 to include wine made from some of the top vineyards in California and Washington State. We kicked the wine business off by acquiring a barrel of syrah and cabernet. We continued with syrah and chard with a 2006 and 2007 vintage. We have also added two cabernets, pinot noir, merlot and a red blend. We now have our 2005 and 2006 vintages bottled and in storage in San Francisco; we are now beginning to stimulate orders. The wine that we offer actually compliments our seven year old livestock business in that we breed and sell horses and longhorn cattle under the name of Bellaterra Ranch. Our labels are all "cowboy or livestock" related and start out as black/white photographs and then hand painted and digitized before they are applied to our labels.

The launch of our wines was first to friends and family who we would invite to our house or meet at restaurants. We then networked with local restaurants and bars where we knew the owners or someone who worked there.

Our second big push was to host a song writer / wine tasting event at our house. For those of you not aware of a "song writers night", it's when you have 2 or 3 performers who usually entertain acoustically and sing the songs they have actually written, who are often sung on the radio by performers. For example, Allen Shamblin, who performed at our song writers night wrote "I Can't Make You Love Me" but is well remembered because it was performed by Bonnie Raitt and became a #1 single. We featured 3 different song writers who had each written #1 songs; they played for about 3 hours. Well anyway, we had about 70 people attend and we also supplied food and refreshments before the music started. The event was pretty successful, we sold about 25 cases of wine and had an absolutely great night that everyone who attended will not forget. We also had a cigar manufacturer attend who brought a box of 25 cigars which were all smoked during the night...the cigars were the icing on the cake.

Next our wine will be featured in Cowboys & Indians Magazine, December 2008 and January 2009 issues.

Stay tuned....
