I like where you're going with your page. It's personable and it's got some good stories.. A little bit of development and you'll really have something (a personal brand of sorts)

Can't wait to try a bottle.. I'm going to take you up on the December "sale", although if the wine is anywhere near as good as I anticipate, the regular price will be well worth it.

Jake, I think a lot depends on the wine being sold. I've bought a few older, rare bottles online and it was comforting to see a picture of the bottle. Although pictures can lie, by being able to see a high res photo you can look for seepage,…

I think it would be logical to start small - 20 or less. Any more than that could turn to utter chaos in terms of hosting and organization. If it were to get bigger we could cross that road when we get there.

Wine meetup / enthusiast club in NJ or NYC metro

One of my friends and I have been talking about starting a wine meetup in Central NJ. We would like to meet monthly. Everyone would bring a bottle of wine to the event and hosting can either rotate or be done at a restaurant in the area. Is there anyone out there that would be interested in such a thing? We are looking for newbies and people with experience alike. Every one of us was a newbie at some pointSee More

Top 10 unknowns.. Hmmmmmm 10. Red Diamond - Don't let the price fool you - their Shiraz is outstanding! 9. Hopewell Valley Vineyards - Their Barbera is quite impressive for an American brand. I think the fruit is sourced from their sister…

Most memorable experience around wine?
My most memorable wine experiences has to be my "a-ha" moment. I was a beer and whiskey drinker, and never really liked wine. As a matter of fact, when I was younger the taste of red wine repulsed me. I was dating a girl that only drank red wine, and would bring a bottle with me because she wouldn't touch any of the beer or whiskey I'd bring. One night I decided to have some wine with her and I didn't love it, but it turn me off like it did when I was younger. Now that I had the newly found tolerance for red wine, I started drinking it with her on weekends. After a little while I started to actually enjoy red wine. That Christmas, her brother gave us a gift that inadvertantly changed my life - a bottle of Chappellet Merlot. Wow! It was like drinking a bottle of velvet.. The taste and the consistency completely floored me, and that was my "a-ha" moment. From that point on, I was a red wine lover.
