Wine Photo Library Update

It's been a dull and damp weekend, so I thought I would use my time to catch up on a few small jobs that need doing on my blogs. I've been rooting through iPhotos, digging out all my wine related photos and updating my 4* Wine Photo Library (Royalty Free) page and also creating 2 spin off pages to cope with the added content. There is now a…See More

Wine and Dementia

A study by Gothenburg University in Sweden has shown that wine may help protect against dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. The study started in 1968 followed 1,458 women and plotted their drinking and lifestyle habits.
Director of the study,Professor Lauren Lissner, , said “the group with the lowest proportion of dementia was that containing women who said they only drank wine”

Also, I certainly can get on board with the study on dimentia and have been working diligently on making sure I am as sharp as possible in my dotage. Nice to know all my hard work may pay off.

When you put a meal together for the best possible combined tastes, do you start with choosing the wine, then select the recipe and adjust it, if necessary to adapt to the wine, or do you like to select the food first then select the wine?

All the best,
Melissa

Dear Richard,
That is a great way to choose well made and unusual wines. It is lovely to taste a wine which is not one of the most popular varietals. I think I'll try your method this week!

What do you like to eat with your lovely rare varietal wines?

All the best,
Melissa
