Tradeshows - Do small wineries really get value for money?

It is true across all industries - tradeshows are expensive and there are a few that just can't be missed. So, what are some of the strategies that small wineries employ to ensure that they get the most out of the dollars spent on these events? How many of you go into the event with fully defined objectives and metrics that will allow you to actually determine your success against those objectives?I…See More

"No WA Pinots really. Oregon, yes. WA, not so much. Syrahs and Cab Francs but most of the WA AVAs are not well suited for the grape."

Yes, this is a big help - it narrows the field of research by a bushel.

Our traveling team is "The Toasted Hostess", Deborah, my wife and I. Meaning, just the two of us and we all wear multiple hats in the journey - so we are not invasive at all.

I do appreciate your candor and insight and wish you all the best with your endeavors. If the thought occurs, please drop in on thecorkscrewdiary.tv and see what we're up to with the vlogs and travels. It's a big ol' wine world out there and we hope to share as much of it as we can with those who have a stem to raise!

Cheers!

We are in search of destination estates to engage in our travelogue. A producing estate with accommodation and culinary support to place the wines of the destination in a unique light.

I will be following the weather and all of the indicators and insights to establish when the probable harvest will occur and attempt to time our arrival in the Northwest just prior so as to capture images of full vines and excited winemakers.

In the meantime, we are hoping to figure out who these destinations are by the recommendation of those individuals we encounter through the various kindred sites.

We are, of course, branding our own efforts 'one vineyard at a time' through the travelogue and supportive vlog services. However, being based in Nashville precludes our abilities to offer the comprehensive services necessary to market an individual vineyard. Our focus is more on regions and honestly, the wine capitals of the world. A lofty goal for sure - but one whose energies in some symbiotic way supports the industry and introduces wine-curious consumers to the qualities and stories from points around the globe.

If you do have any insights that might save a google or two - your time would be greatly appreciated... perhaps one of these destinations wouldbe one of the vineyards you represent.

Thanx for the "friending"... hope to hear from you and that you have a wonderful weekend.

Cheers!

Thanx for the add. Not sure if you looked into The Corkscrew Diary to se what our works are about, but we are a travelogue about wine. We hope to return to the Northwest for the harvest of 2009, and it is never too early to reach out to people in the know.

Which vineyards do you represent?
