When advertising became ‘that which shall not be named’.

One old saying in business is, when times are tight the first thing to go is the marketing budget. Or, put more simply, funding for advertising. In early 2009, you can see this happening just about everywhere. Right now, except for some very large consumer brands, even the word ‘advertising’ has become something akin to profanity.
