Wine Country Travel – Day 1 On the Central Coast – Paso Robles!

For the last 3 years, my wife and I have attended wine festivals in Santa Barbara each summer.  Each year, on our way back to the Bay Area, we’ve stopped in Paso Robles to do some wine tasting.  Last year we stopped both on the way to Santa Barbara, and on the way back.  This year, because we’ve enjoyed the wineries we’ve visited in Paso Robles so much, we decided to skip Santa Barbara altogether and just do Paso.

On our itinerary was…

How I Learned To Embrace Leftover (What The..?!) Wine!

I know, I know! The words “Leftover Wine” borders on oxymoronic (although I suppose to be persnickety, one could argue there no such thing as leftover good wine.  There’s either wine you drink, or wine for the sink!)  I was right there with you.  Or at least I was until I read this post (Is Leftover Wine A Myth Or Reality) by my wine blogging buddy Eileen Gross of Wine…

T.G.I.F. Champagne and the like...NV Piper Sonoma Brut

This week’s sparkler is from Piper Sonoma.  I’m not sure why I haven’t tried this wine before, but it’s the only Northern California sparkling wine producer whose bubbly I’ve not had the pleasure of trying.

Piper Sonoma was founded in 1980 by the Piper-Heidseick Champagne house.  This brand seems to be lagging behind other California sparking…

I truly appreciate this great nation of ours, and feel blessed to be an American.  And that’s what the Fourth of July is about for me.  Okay – well that,  and it’s a great reason to gather with family, and friends share great food and wine!

My food blogging friends have outdone themselves with this week’s…
