Admit it, yes you wine aficienados...you do not look at the price tags of wine...okay you are all liars, in this economy I look at the price of everything even at the dollar store where everything is a dollar.
So you can imagine that $9 bottle of red table wine I bought that I thought would be great to add to spagehetti sauce but, you never made said sauce.
Well, don't be too shocked, it was a FABULOUS bottle of wine rubber cork and all!
Yes I said rubber, now stop laughing.
In fact aside from the great taste of this wine the cork was the second thing I loved, it was plastic but after the same mechanical workings of "peeling off the label" I had a great smelling wine in a glass in under 30 seconds and for me that is a record.
The third thing I love about this wine is it was on sale! Yes, I bought wine that was on sale at a wine store and its fabulous sincerely I don't know if I can actually tell you this but "Hey Mambo" by "The Other Guys" was damn good, yes I needed to swear because this "California Sultry Red" blend of Syrah, Barbarea, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Malbec and Alicante Bouchet grapes lite my fire!
This isn't my first cheap bottle of Great wine, as I have found myself wandering around wine shops looking for bottles of wine that not only fit my budget but my tastebuds.
Next up I am going to head out to Whole Foods, grab myself a serving of Shrimp, cook some salmon roast and try a Chardonnay from Donati Family Vineyards and if I don't like it, well I think I am safe I picked up two more bottles of "Hey Mambo" just in case ;)
