Cape Classics to Represent Glenelly to the USA

We are very excited to announce that we have been appointed the exclusive importer of Glenelly Estate wines to the USA! Located on the southern slopes of the Simonsberg in Stellenbosch, South Africa, Glenelly is owned by May‐Eliane de Lencquesaing, Bordeaux doyenne and former owner of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. The wines will be available in all major US markets beginning October 1.

As Cape Classics COO Robert Bradshaw stated, "May de Lencquesaing's entry into South Africa signifies another remarkable milestone for this world class wine region, and we are exceptionally proud that she has chosen Cape Classics as Glenelly's US partner."

De Lencquesaing purchased Glenelly in 2003, and subsequently planted 66 of the property's 128 hectares to vineyards. Several vintages were crafted from purchased fruit while waiting for the newly planted vines to come on line. Winemaker Luke O'Cuinneagain joined Glenelly in 2007, after working for five years at neighboring estate Rustenberg. Adi Badenhorst, also formerly of Rustenberg, serves as winemaking consultant. Glenelly's state‐of‐the‐art winery building was completed in 2009, and the first estate grown wines were released earlier this year.

We will initially import four Glenelly wines: a Chardonnay and a Cabernet Sauvignon from the "Glass Collection" (SRP $17.99 each); "Grand Vin de Glenelly" the estate's Syrah‐based signature red blend (SRP $24.99); and the flagship Bordeaux‐inspired "Lady May" Cabernet Sauvignon (SRP $49.99).
