Very recently some proposed they would make plum wine at home.
I don't know why I am not familiar with the Portugese way of making plum wine but, I nearly bolted out a "Hell, no" at the mere remention of this somewhat curious talent the person wanted to share with me.
I admit my wine snobbery goes as far as "if you don't go to Fermentation Solutions and carve out a part of your home into a distillery or you don't have wine grapes growing already...don't say you can make wine"
YES! YES! I know the malactic process can happen anywhere and the fermentation process can procreate in the most unusual of spaces (like when I don't do the dishes for 2 weeks in my kitchen sink) but, wine making is this art form I hold high with making a lamborgini or painting a Picasso something that really talented people should do and usually at a vineyard.
Really where would wine makers be without the CrushBarrels of the world? So, I have to say if you want to make your homemade Beer -Great Fabulous let me buy you some hops, but homemade wine leave it to your grandmother she knows best and does it better.
