Lately I have been having a discussion about how the millennial market will influence wine sales in the future. The debate is not about if millennial's will impact growth but How.
In my opinion it depends on the preferences of the ideal millennial consumer your going after. Does their behavior lean towards mobile devices, blogs, tastings, recommendations, or something else? If someone walks in for tasting and informs you they love your website or heard about your wines in a blog are they then classified as having a preference for the web as an information source? What if this same person then pulls out an iPhone and proceeds to have the same conversation, doe this mean they are classified as a mobile user?
Most people would suggest you use your best judgement to classify them but I disagree. I think it is way to early to make any kind of judgement on that consumer preferences or behavior. You need further insight and information.
So I ask you, How do you think it will be best to reach your ideal millennial consumer? How do your judge their behavior or preferences? And have you seen success from this analysis?
