Small dog awarded winery license in California - a first

In a dramatic change in policy, the CA ABC awarded its first winery license to a dog. Snickers will specialize in Rhone and Bordeaux style wines from fruit in the CA Sierra Foothills. Snickers' Calotte Blanc white Rhone blend won Best in Class at the 2009 SF Chronicle Wine Competition. When asked about she felt about the award, she responded "well, one always hopes for a Best in Show, but everyone at Casque is thrilled with the Best in Class nonetheless."
