After blowing the dust off some beautiful reds...we opened and tasted..Once again our favorite Chef
Tarrence proved his talent never fails.
Here were some of the winners.
1998 Penely Estate Coonawarra Cabernet....paired with short rib meatball in pressed potatoe
Super rich, dark color and followed with taste. This stuff was beautiful. An opulent expression
of saturated fruit and a core of deep currants and dark chocolate.simply WOW.
2000 Volpaia Coltassala Chianti Classico Riserva...paired with pork belly and cranberry reduction.
This wine was still solid with big notes of cherry licorace and rhubarb. Classic sangiovese earthiness
and bold yet soft tannins.
1997 Offley Vintage Porto....paired with hand poured Chocolate soup.(Decanted 5 hours)
A perfect example of a well aged port. Though from a smaller house, this wine was brimming with
dark fruity character and elegance. The Chocolate sopu was outstanding and was probably the best paring of the night.
Another success. Great wines from The Wine Store in Westerly RI.....Cheers to all!
