Wine in a Box? How About Wine in Tupperware!

Let me first start out by saying, I know this was wrong. Please do not do this at home. Last Friday night I was just finishing work; I decided to decant a bottle of nice Zinfandel.

I poured half the bottle of Zin into the decanter. I began doing a few things around the house when a friend called. My friends invited me over as they were opening a new bottle of Chardonnay from RiverBench Winery.

A new bottle of Chardonnay I have never tried, I’m there. What am I going to do with the decanted Zinfandel? “Oh just bring it over, we will have the Zinfandel later”, she said.

I was running around trying to find something for the wine. I’d make a mess if I tried to pour back into the bottle. I couldn’t drive over with wine in the decanter, what if it spills. Forget the car seats, what if I lose the wine.

Finally coming upon Tupperware. Sad but true, I used Tupperware to transport wine. I did try the wine before it entered the new holding place. Very nice and enjoyable Zin.

As not to offend the winemaker, the name of the wine will not be on this blog. I will say transporting in Tupperware did not seem to harm the wine in any way. I know -blasphemy for treating wine in such a way.

As a side note - The Riverbend Chardonnay was so unique right from the beginning with such a golden color. I loved the wonderful fragrance and soft finish on the palate.
